Long time no write hey?

Well, not that much time to do it anyway. Between catching up to school matters and doing some papers for Sociology classes I still have work to do on my job before the 25 November, wich will be my last day. I recently quit my job to dedicate full time to college and some freelancing I keep getting.

The crisis seems to have landed on my turf as I had some moaning from a client, who accepted my budget but wants to pay on small fees during 6 months, rather than my 40% – 60% usual plan. And in order to guarantee some revenue for the upcoming months, where I’ll be out of a job, I have to come up with a decent plan to protect my assets and my work, and must warn the guy that if a payment fails all he’ll see is a “suspended page”, no kidding here. Let’s see how this goes as I need to keep working to strech the muscle, and I love exercicing on this field.

And judging on my car’s drinking average I’ll need about 100€ a month to keep this baby running from Montijo to Setubal every day. Must get a mate to divide expenses and carpool. Everybody should do it.

On another subject It’s that time of year where the Hubby’s company does a conference In the US and I get to order some books from Barnes & Noble. This year’s will be held in Vegas (again *I wish i could go*), but my husband won’t go, It’s a coleague doing the shoping, and the most I can order is 3 books, so I’ll asking some advice from all of you. Yesterday I spent all mornin at the school Library and noticed it is well equiped whith books on this subject, Internet, and all things related, programming, usability, interface design, so I’m thrilled about it, and it’s a few books I don’t need to buy. There’s a good lot of O’Reilly, Wrox, Apress, New Riders,  Packt and Friend of Ed books. Cool I say, cause I’m paying for all that, 900€ a year.

Other than school, work and house dutys, I have just been enjoying some new stuff on TV, like Eli Stone and Swingtown on Fox Life, and Chuck on AXN while preparing dinner

And….last but not least, I’m thinking about a new layout for this blog, when I upgrade for wordpress 2.7, if time allows me to.

As senhoras administrativas, seja de que serviço ou instituição fôr, são umas alminhas muito voláteis, e isso dever-se-á muitos factores, seja ele o stress, o sol ou a chuva, os clientes que atendem ou os astros. E têm o dom de nos arruinar o dia, e até a semana.

Na segunda feira liguei para a ESCE para fazer uma pergunta muito simples: se havia vagas da 2ª fase do concurso de acesso ao Ensino Superior. Do outro lado, uma voz inrrompe dizento em alto e bom som e matando por completo as minhas esperanças “não vai haver 3ª fase, não entra mais ninguém” Traz!

Grande trovoada. Á pala disso andei de tromba, a destratar que me consolava com o simpático e muito frustrante ”deixa lá, entras para o ano ” (argh).

Não era justo, estava tudo a correr bem, hopes where high…and then.

Hoje, pelas 11.10 liga uma senhora muito simpática a dizer que sobraram duas vagas, perguntou se estava interessada e lá disse para eu ir fazer a matricula.

Ora bem, agora há que retomar a vida estudantil, 10 anos depois, enfrentar a grande vaca cornuda que é a matemática, Oléeeeeee. E já vou com um mês de aulas em atraso…nada bom.

Mas o que interessa:

Mas nada de praxes nem boa vida que isto é para levar a sério e daqui a 3 anos é para estar despachada!

* Realmente estas siglas no titulo não dizem nada a muita gente, e como manda bom português é melhor esclarecer que entrei no Curso de Gestão de Sistemas de Informação (GSI), na Escola Superior de Ciencias Empresariais de Setúbal (ESCE). Obrigado Bruno Figueiredo.
